NHL-Zidlicky joins Devils in big trade, Hemsky stays at Oilers
The New Jersey Devils acquired experienced Czech defenseman Marek Zidlicky from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for three players and two draft picks on Friday. With NHL deadline day approaching on Monday, Minnesota took back former defenseman Kurtis Foster, forwards Stephane Veilleux and Nick Palmieri, a second round pick in the 2012 entry draft and a conditional third round pick in 2013.
Bolton’s Miyaichi poised for Japan debut (Reuters)
(Refiles to add Miyaichi age) TOKYO, Feb 25 (Reuters) – Bolton Wanderers winger Ryo Miyaichi is set to make his international debut against Uzbekistan next week after being called up by Japan coach Alberto Zaccheroni on Saturday. The 19-year-old Miyaichi scored a fine goal in his first start for Bolton last weekend in an FA Cup tie at Millwall following his loan move from English Premier League rivals Arsenal.
South Korea downs Uzbekistan in friendly (AP)
JEONJU, South Korea (AP)—Lee Dong-gook scored the first two goals to set up South Korea’s 4-2 win over Uzbekistan in Saturday’s friendly game as both teams prepare for World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday. Former English Premier League striker Lee put the hosts in command at Jeonju World Cup Stadium and Kim Chi-woo netted twice after the break to give coach Choi Kang-hee a win in his first game in charge.

Lee, who plays for English League Championship side Southampton, and Havenaar of Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, were among 10 Europe-based players named to the squad on Saturday by Japan coach Alberto Zaccheroni
